MileAway is designed with privacy at its core. All your travel data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers. We do not have access to your travel history, locations, or personal information.

All data collected by MileAway is stored exclusively on your device:

- Countries and regions you have visited
- Travel dates and trip durations
- Achievements and travel statistics
- Your profile and preferences
What Is Never Sent to Our Servers
- Your location data or GPS coordinates
- Your travel history or visited countries
- Your photos or photo metadata
- Any personally identifiable information
2. Location Data
MileAway uses location services to detect which country you are in. This processing happens entirely on your device:
- Location data is processed on-device to determine country visits
- Precise GPS coordinates are never stored or transmitted
- Only country-level information is saved to your local database
- You can disable location services at any time in your device settings
3. Photo Library Access
MileAway can import travel history from your photo library by reading location metadata from your photos:
- Photo metadata is processed entirely on your device
- Photos are never uploaded, copied, or sent anywhere
- Only country-level location data is extracted and stored locally
- You can revoke photo library access at any time in your device settings
4. Data Security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security:
- All data is stored in your device's secure local storage
- Data is protected by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
- If you delete the app, all associated data is removed from your device
5. Analytics
MileAway uses anonymous analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the experience. Analytics data does not include your travel history, location data, or any personally identifiable information.
You can opt out of analytics at any time in the app settings.
6. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:
- Delete: Remove all data by deleting the app
- Control: Manage location and photo permissions in your device settings
- Opt-out: Disable analytics in the app settings
7. Children's Privacy
MileAway is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app. Your continued use of MileAway after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
